Hello, dear readers.
This message was originally crafted as a speech for the Women’s Wellness event, a vibrant gathering organized by the Orlando Mom Collective. As I reflected on what I wanted to convey, one theme stood out: the importance of pursuing your passions with grace for imperfection. I call this Living Thoughtfully.
Let me share a snippet of my story and how living thoughtfully has become the guiding principle for my life and the brands I lead, all while embracing my imperfections.
It’s 3 a.m. sometime in 2014, and I’m awake with insomnia. I’m battling an elusive disease that denies me rest, day or night. I have two young kids and am working in the C-suite of a company I love, but I kept hearing this nagging voice: “I can’t do it all.” I needed to heal. Even my comfortable salary wasn’t enough to buy the one thing I was desperately hunting—peace and the feeling of being “normal.”
What began as a quest for normalcy turned into a journey of beauty, grace, and struggle, leading to a path filled with imperfect experiences and heightened awareness. This journey has profoundly shaped both myself and the businesses I lead.
During the early part of my healing quest, I co-manifested a beautiful company with my husband, Jedidiah. But the connection between my healing and the business ran deeper. My best friend Cara was grappling with similar issues, and we couldn’t dismiss this as mere coincidence. Simultaneously, our daughter was battling her own health challenges. The concept of a juice bar (with a foot massage studio connected)—a vision I scribbled on a napkin during a work trip to L.A.—began to take shape. Fueled by an obsession with the documentary “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead,” my husband, being the man he is, started researching and creating juice formulas for healing. I witnessed remarkable transformations through his efforts and our juice bar, both in my life and in the lives of our customers.
There’s a saying one of my best friends taught me: “Have people in your life who make you a better person.” This guiding principle is something I hold dear, and I’m reminded of its truth as I reflect on my own journey.
The unconditional love my husband showed me during that time is what drives me to keep the brand evolving.
The unconditional care from the doctors who have walked with me on this journey has been another guide, one that inspires me deeply. Their passion and dedication to my life and well-being altered my perspective on medicine and those who take their oaths seriously. I wanted to spread the message that healing is accessible, even though it can be as elusive as finding a diagnosis.
My goal was, and still is, to make cleaner, healthier options for healing more available than they were a decade ago. Today, healing is more accessible, but it can also feel overwhelming with so many options. My mission is to make living thoughtfully more accessible—by serving products that are thoughtfully clean and providing better options to our community.
This is where The Home Farm comes in. As I progressed on my healing journey, I discovered the importance of the products we use in our daily lives. The Home Farm was born out of a deep connection to nature and a commitment to using ingredients that nurture our bodies without compromising our health. When the founder decided to return to her mother country, it felt natural to bring The Home Farm into our family of brands. I had been using these products during my healing journey and experienced their profound impact. I didn’t want to see the brand lose its magic, nor did I want these incredible products to become inaccessible.
The Home Farm’s offerings align perfectly with my vision for thoughtful living. Each product is crafted with care, using ingredients that honor the earth and our bodies. From our soothing skincare to our nurturing home essentials, every item is a testament to the power of living thoughtfully.
Today, I have the privilege of leading Grounding Roots and The Home Farm. But it’s an imperfect journey—colorful and full of lessons daily. These experiences remind me of the beauty of humanity and the precious lives we lead. My journey moves me to create and lead brands that serve.
For me, living thoughtfully is about those moments at the end of the day when I lay my head on the pillow and reflect on the blessings of the day. I ask myself: How could I have served better? How could I have given myself or someone else more grace? It’s in these moments of imperfection that I continue to find hidden gems and guides for living thoughtfully, even in a chaotic world. I believe my journey to living thoughtfully is no mere coincidence either.
My wish for you, the reader, is to find ways to embrace a life of thoughtful living and more grace for your amazingly beautiful imperfections.
Side Note to Readers:
The word “coincidence” comes from the Medieval Latin coincidentia, derived from coincidere, meaning “to agree in nature” or “to coincide.”
Leading up to the event, I was thinking of the amazing women I would be surrounded by. For example, Dr. Saigal, a woman whose unwavering commitment to our community—and to my family personally—has been a beacon of hope. To my mother and sisters, who first showed me love and die-hard commitment to sisterhood. To Eryn, the host of this event and everyone reading this. And every strong, powerful woman in my life…
The profound connection we share, something greater than ourselves, embodies what I call living thoughtfully—embracing both grace and imperfection. This sisterhood of women, whether nurturing children, communities, or businesses, deeply inspires me.
